ResearchOne assist researchers with accessing health and social care information. The research leads to new tools and knowledge that is used to improve patient care. It is the mission of ResearchOne to support this cycle of improvement so that data is transformed into knowledge.

ResearchOne has a non-identifiable database of data from health records and national datasets in England.  Many care organisations share their health records through a clinical system called SystmOne and they can give data, including general practices, hospitals and community services.

As many people receive care from more than one organisation, it is important that health research uses data that represents this. The aim of the de-identified ResearchOne database is to improve the accessibility and engagement of meaningful health and social care research.

The protocol for this ResearchOne database has been reviewed by national ethics and information governance committees and is available here.

The pages in this section provide more information to health and care organisations, researchers and the public.
